INCITE! began as a spark from the historic Color of Violence conference in 2000 that brought together thousands of women of color dedicated to bringing about global peace and social justice. These women called out the need to forge a grassroots movement to end violence and oppression.
Since then, INCITE! has grown into grassroots chapters across the nation, launched critical campaigns, events, and projects addressing state-sponsored and interpersonal gender violence, and supported innovative organizing strategies designed to build a strong and sustainable anti-violence movement. These successes have been possible because of supporters like you!
